How to promote your blog?

There are many ways in which an individual can promote there blog in order to increase their average daily page views. Some ways in which this can be done is by utilizing advertising site and programs or using blog directory systems. You might be wondering where I can find proper advertising websites or blog directories? Well to find proper blog directories or websites the individual can use any popular search engines such as Bing, Google or yahoo to conduct their research. Or if you keep checking out my blog on a daily website I will be exploring many of the different blog directory options as well as the different advertising website options.


Today we will look at the blog directory known as Technorati. Technorati authority is a site that measures a website’s standing & influence in the blogosphere. Technorati is a blog directory in which to utilize the blog directory side of the website then you have to do what is called blog claiming. When the blogger claims his or her blog then the blog will be added to the Technorati blog directory. This process is quite easy to do. In order to access the blog directory then follow these steps:

1) Simply sign in
2       2) Go to your profile page by clicking on your name in the top right of any page.
3       3) You will then see the place to begin your claim by entering your blog URL just after the section that   contains your profile image.

But not every blog is accepted by this blog directory, the blog has to pass certain guidelines. In order for your site not to be banned then a major thing for you to avoid is plagiarism. Plagiarism is the use of a material content and reproducing the written material as your own. In other words, you take a written material that belongs to someone else and placing it as your own. In order for your site to pass the guidelines set out by Technorati then your content must be original, possess an RSS feed and your blog must be updated at least once a month.

As long as you as a blogger follow these simple steps then your blog will be added to the directory. So as young and upcoming bloggers this is an interesting and easy option for which you can utilize  Follow my regular updates and I will be discussing some other alternatives to Technorati.
