Well a blog can be defined as a website on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information, etc. on a regular basis. So therefore identifying your niche will give your blog an angle that distinguishes you from your competitors.

Step 4: Generate a name for your blog. In order to properly generate a name for your blog try doing the activity of brainstorming. By brainstorming you will be able to generate a list of names that can be written on a piece of paper.  Another useful activity can be freelance writing this is where you just write down anything that comes to your mind.

Step 5: Research Keywords related to your subject to help people find your blog. Go to sites like Google, Bing or Yahoo and search for words related to any subject you choose to write about. This is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which is one of the best ways to promote your blog.

Step 6: Decide where to keep and host your blog. For individuals who already have a g mail account then these individuals can sign up with blogger (blogspot.com). When you sign up with blogger your domain name will be registered with an address similar to this Yourname.blogspot.com or if you pay US$10.00 a year you can have a different address, your own domain name that is www.Yourname.com. Or the other most useful blog is to sign up with Word press. Signing up with word press is easy and there are two options.

Option 1: sign up for free and get a domain name in this manner yourblog.wordpress.com

Option 2: sign up with Word press  and pay US$13.00 and get a custom domain name such as www.yourblog.com.
